Employee Relations Specialist

The Role

This is a hands-on role for an experienced HR/ER professional who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and managing a high volume of often complex Employee Relations cases.

You will need to be patient, resilient and confident working with a range of stakeholders, while balancing multiple competing priorities and ensuring cases are managed effectively and in line with current employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume and varied Employee Relations caseload from start to finish
  • Handle complex ER matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence and other employee issues
  • Provide clear and practical advice to managers and stakeholders on complex employment matters
  • Monitor and review employment legislation changes and assess their potential impact on HR policies and practices
  • Support with TUPE-related activity and employee relations matters
  • Manage and respond to queries through the CWS inbox
  • Support projects involving the review, creation and implementation of HR templates and documentation
  • Create and update HR templates and documentation within Workday
  • Ensure ER processes, documentation and practices are compliant, consistent and fit for purpose
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business in a fast-paced technology environment

Essential Candidate Criteria:

  • Strong and demonstrable Employee Relations experience is essential
  • Experience managing a high-volume ER caseload
  • Proven experience dealing with complex ER cases independently
  • Previous experience within the technology sector is highly desirable
  • Workday experience is essential
  • Experience using ServiceNow would be advantageous
  • Experience supporting TUPE processes and employee matters
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and the ability to interpret legislative changes and assess business impact
  • Experience reviewing, developing and improving HR templates and documentation
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on role and willing to get involved wherever needed
  • Patient, organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Experienced at Advisor/Specialist level, rather than requiring previous management experience
  • Available to start ASAP, ideally by the end of August, with a maximum 1-week notice period
