Fixed-term (6 months, with potential extension)

The United Synagogue is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support the delivery of key organisational change and cost-saving projects across our communities.

This is a hands-on ER role, balancing strategy with hands on operational responsibilities.

Reporting in to the Head of Employee Relations, you will be focused on restructuring, redundancy, contractual change, and wider workforce planning.

You will partner closely with stakeholders to shape business cases, manage consultation processes, and ensure all change activity is legally compliant, fair and effectively implemented.

About the role

  • Lead employee relations support on organisational change and cost-saving projects
  • Provide expert advice on restructures, redundancies and contractual variations
  • Manage consultation processes and ER documentation
  • Identify and mitigate legal, procedural and reputational risks
  • Build strong relationships with community leaders and internal stakeholders

About you

  • You will bring:
  • Strong experience in employee relations and organisational change
  • A sound working knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to navigate complex, sensitive situations
  • Confidence in influencing stakeholders and leading consultation processes

Additional details

Salary: c. £53,800 FTE

Flexible working (full-time or 4 days per week)

Hybrid working with some travel to communities
