Summary: The Employee Relations Consultant will act as a strategic partner in enhancing employee relations within a London-based organization. This role focuses on resolving workplace issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and promoting a positive work environment. The consultant will also support HR initiatives and contribute to the development of employee relations programs. The position is set for a fixed term from April 21, 2025, to July 25, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and management on employee relations issues
- Investigate employee complaints, concerns, and conflicts, and provide solutions or recommendations
- Advise managers on handling employee performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
- Promote open communication channels to ensure employee concerns are addressed promptly and fairly
- Review, update, and ensure the effective implementation of employee relations policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies in day-to-day operations
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to employee relations, workplace conduct, and compliance
- Mediating and resolving workplace disputes between employees and between employees and managers
- Facilitate difficult conversations and provide guidance on conflict resolution techniques
- Help improve employee engagement by advising on initiatives that enhance workplace culture and job satisfaction
- Support HR and leadership in identifying areas for improvement in employee relations and morale
- Analyze employee feedback (e.g., surveys, exit interviews) and recommend action plans to address concerns
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of investigations, complaints, and resolutions
- Prepare and present reports on employee relations metrics and trends to senior management
- Advise HR team and managers on best practices for employee relations, including communication strategies and performance management
- Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and emerging trends in employee relations
- Deliver training sessions to managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, compliance, and company policies
- Provide guidance on how to address and prevent workplace issues effectively
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 4-5 years of experience in employee relations, HR, or a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, employee rights, and workplace regulations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Experience in conflict resolution and mediation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certifications) (preferred)
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and other HR software (preferred)
- Bilingual (if relevant to the company’s employee base) (preferred)
