Summary: The role of Senior Project Manager in Electronic Warfare involves leading innovation, R&D, product projects, and bids for the UK Ministry of Defence. The position requires extensive experience in managing complex projects and delivering them on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively. This role is based in Southampton and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and actively managing project teams
  • Successfully deliver bids and contracts to target schedule, cost and quality levels; this means fully understanding the governing contract and delivering it on time and in full (OTIF)
  • Identifying, prioritising and actively managing risks & issues associated with bids & live contracts; includes appropriate and timely escalation.
  • Providing timely and accurate forecast information and project reporting, managing both internal and external stakeholders expectations as appropriate
  • Ensuring all project artefacts (both deliverable & non-deliverable) are appropriately controlled and produced to a high standard, in-line with internal QMS - includes plans, estimates, specifications, architecture & design documents, software, test plans & results, manufacturing data, etc

Key Skills:

  • Experience in either products and product development or research and consultancy.
  • Experience in delivering IT delivery projects using agile principles and methods.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Portfolio Management
  • Appropriate Project Management qualifications (eg, APM, PMI, Prince2)
  • SAFe/Agile qualifications
  • APM PMQ qualified or equivalent or working towards a qualification
  • Knowledge of Scrum
  • Behaviourally - this is key. Must be able to fit in, negotiate and talk openly with all stakeholders.
  • Technically - experience of working within a complex, multi team environment and the processes of such.
