Summary: The Electrical Vehicle EDS Test Technician role involves supporting the Electrical & Electronic Test team by conducting various tests related to the EDS system, including performance and reliability assessments. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical architecture and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The technician will also be responsible for formal reporting of test results and providing technical support to production and design departments. This contract role is based in Warwick with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical function, performance, and reliability tests for the EDS system.
- Perform harness terminal voltage and body earth capacity tests.
- Test charging system fusible links and fuse/relay capacities.
- Identify lead concerns and conduct root cause investigations.
- Support design departments to ensure quality in component testing.
- Coordinate overall vehicle test technical activities as needed.
- Report test results to design sections and upper management.
- Provide technical support to production and test facilities.
- Assist in field investigations for responsible systems.
- Manage supplier relationships as required.
- Develop test/investigation reports, test plans, and methods.
- Ensure electrical systems meet client quality standards.
- Complete validation within project milestones.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical architecture and electrical theory.
- Understanding of electromagnetics and EMC test requirements.
- Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience in risk assessment of electrical design and test plan generation.
- Familiarity with network communications (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams.
- Practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Competence with digital oscilloscopes and RF measurement equipment.
- Experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development.
- Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible in working practices.
