Summary: The Electrical Test Operator will be responsible for certifying and testing advanced defence products, ensuring compliance with rigorous standards. This role involves setting up and calibrating test equipment, conducting fault-finding on electronic systems, and maintaining precise test records. The operator will work within a team to meet strict manufacturing timelines while upholding safety and quality standards. SC Clearance is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Certify and maintain product certifications in compliance with defence procedures and standards.
- Set up and calibrate advanced test equipment to perform detailed tests on defence electronics.
- Conduct fault-finding on defence-related electronic systems and maintain precise test records.
- Meet strict manufacturing test times and ensure accurate documentation for defence projects.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety, workmanship, and quality control in all processes.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment to deliver on high-stakes projects.
Key Skills:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification (NVQ Level 3, ONC, etc.).
- Experience with testing, fault-finding, and using test equipment for electronic systems in high-stakes environments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, particularly in defence or military-related fields.
- Manual handling, lifting, and slinging training (including overhead cranes).
- ESD awareness, no colour blindness, and an understanding of defence safety protocols.
