Summary: The Electrical Supervisor (QA/QC) role involves overseeing electrical works on a large-scale BESS project in Manchester, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. The position requires strong QA/QC expertise and experience in managing site activities, subcontractors, and inspections. The supervisor will also support project management and coordinate with various teams to ensure timely and quality completion of electrical installations. This is a long-term contract opportunity with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily site activities for all electrical works across a large-scale BESS project.
  • Coordinate and oversee site operatives and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient work execution.
  • Take ownership of QA/QC activities across electrical installations, ensuring compliance with approved ITPs and project specifications.
  • Carry out and manage site inspections, quality walk-downs, punch listing, and non-conformance tracking.
  • Support the preparation and completion of quality documentation, including inspection records and handover dossiers.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  • Support the Site Manager and Project Manager with progress reporting and site coordination.
  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions to maintain safety culture.
  • Monitor site progress and workmanship to minimize rework and defects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate materials and equipment logistics.
  • Identify and escalate risks, delays, and quality concerns to the Site Manager and Project team.
  • Support commissioning, energisation, testing, and handover activities.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong QA/QC experience within electrical construction environments.
  • Understanding of electrical installation techniques including LV/MV systems and switchgear.
  • Experience working within live energy or HV environments is advantageous.
  • Experience supervising multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of HSEQ procedures and quality management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Role – Electrical Supervisor (QA/QC) Location – Manchester Mint Selection are partnered with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an experienced Electrical Supervisor with a strong QA/QC background for an immediate start on a utility-scale BESS project based in Manchester.

Scope of Work

  • Supervise daily site activities for all electrical works across a large-scale BESS project, including LV/MV distribution, cabling, containment, switchgear installation, battery integration, earthing, transformers, and control systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee site operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.
  • Take ownership of QA/QC activities across electrical installations, ensuring works are completed in accordance with approved ITPs, quality documentation, inspection requirements, and project specifications.
  • Carry out and manage site inspections, quality walk-downs, punch listing, redline reviews, and non-conformance tracking, ensuring issues are identified and resolved proactively.
  • Support the preparation, review, and completion of quality documentation, including inspection records, test packs, handover dossiers, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, site rules, RAMS, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Support the Site Manager and Project Manager with progress reporting, quality inspections, site coordination, and interface management with civils, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions to maintain safe working practices and a strong safety culture on site.
  • Monitor site progress and workmanship to ensure electrical installations are completed to programme and required quality standards, minimising rework and defects.
  • Liaise with suppliers, delivery teams, and subcontractors to coordinate materials, plant, inspections, and equipment logistics on site.
  • Identify and escalate any risks, delays, design clashes, quality concerns, or non-conformances to the Site Manager and Project team.
  • Support commissioning, energisation, testing, and handover activities, ensuring all electrical works are completed, inspected, tested, and verified to the required standards.

Experience to be Considered

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on utility-scale energy, power, industrial, or infrastructure projects — ideally with experience across BESS, substations, renewables, power generation, or grid infrastructure.
  • Strong QA/QC experience within electrical construction environments, including ITPs, inspections, quality assurance processes, test packs, handover documentation, snagging, and NCR management.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation techniques including LV/MV systems, switchgear, transformers, cabling, containment, earthing, and control systems.
  • Previous experience working within live energy or HV environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience supervising multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors within fast-paced construction programmes.
  • Strong working knowledge of HSEQ procedures, permit-to-work systems, RAMS, safe systems of work, and quality management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain a strong site presence and proactively drive works forward.
