Electrical Services Engineer

Summary: The Electrical Services Engineer role is a contract position focused on supporting a major engineering initiative for a nuclear defense client in the UK. The project involves upgrading a defense facility in Plymouth, with a significant budget and a long-term timeline. The engineer will be responsible for design preparation, technical problem-solving, and supervising junior staff within a hybrid working environment. Immediate availability is required for this urgent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or check designs, analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and other documents for nuclear and non-nuclear related facilities.
• Participate in problem-solving for technical solutions and new designs.
• Support the review of new designs and construction methodologies submitted to the Technical Authority.
• Assist in planning activities, estimating costs, and providing design deliverables with regular schedule reviews.
• Supervise and guide junior staff on the job.

Key Skills:

• Experience in design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures, particularly for nuclear safety functions.
• Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings and building services design.
• Understanding of construction techniques for nuclear safety-related structures.
• Strong grasp of engineering design and safety practices relevant to project requirements.
• Familiarity with health and safety, design, and quality procedures.
