Electrical Senior Authorised Person (SAP)

Summary: The Electrical Senior Authorised Person (SAP) role involves managing and supervising electrical work on a major infrastructure project in Bridgwater, Somerset. The position requires overseeing high-risk electrical tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and issuing permits to work. This freelance role is part of a £4 billion project and is initially set for a duration of two years. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in electrical power systems and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out SAP duties in line with Electrical Safety Rules
• Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical works
• Prepare, issue and control Permits to work, Switching Schedules, and Safety Documentation
• Lead and manage HV / LV switching operations and isolations
• Supervise operational teams to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and technical standards

Key Skills:

• Current or recent experience in a SAP authorised position
• Extensive experience in electrical power systems, including high voltage operations and safety procedures
• NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering, including Testing and Inspection
• Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, Electrical Safety Rules, and Risk Management
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
