Summary: Bureau Veritas is seeking Electrical QC Inspectors for a prestigious UK Defence project near Reading, UK. The role involves delivering independent inspection and quality control services for equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction, requiring Security Clearance and British citizenship. This is a Monday to Friday position based on-site for an initial 12-month contract outside of IR35. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in the nuclear industry or a high hazard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors.
- Review fabrication/manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels.
- Ensure compliance with quality plans, ITPs, fabrication/manufacturing procedures, and welding procedures.
- Compile and review LTQRs.
Key Skills:
- Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
- Experience or ability to learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards for Inspection of Electrical equipment.
- Good understanding of installation, punch lists, reporting, and full NCR process.
- Qualifications: Ideally ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum full apprenticeship and one or more of C&G Electrical Inspection 2360/2391/2392/2377 17th/18th Edition Compex/ATEX 1-4 accreditation.
- CSCS Card or equivalent Safety Passport.

Bureau Veritas are excited to say that we have an opportunity for a number of Electrical QC Inspectors to work on a prestigious UK Defence project based near Reading, UK. This will be on a 12 Month initial Contract based outside of IR35. The roles are located at a highly secure working site and will require Security Clearance and therefore successful candidates must be a British Born UK passport holder. This is a Monday-Friday working role based onsite at Reading.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication and construction.
- Equipment ranging from Class 1 nuclear pressure equipment to items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards and regulations.
- Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation and review of LTQR’s.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Have a good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
- Experience and understanding or the ability to learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards relating to Inspection of Electrical equipment on a Nuclear or related high hazard site, to include installation, punch lists, reporting and full NCR process.
- Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements
- Qualifications Ideally ONC/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or:
- Minimum full apprenticeship and one or more of C&G Electrical Inspection 2360/2391/2392/2377 17th/18th Edition Compex/ATEX 1-4 accreditation would also be favourable
