Summary: The Electrical QA Engineer will oversee quality assurance processes for a major data centre project, ensuring compliance with standards and documentation for electrical installations. The role requires strong QA/QC experience in critical environments or large-scale commercial projects. The engineer will conduct inspections, manage non-conformance reports, and liaise with various teams to uphold quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage the electrical QA/QC processes across the data centre project
  • Review and approve ITPs, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Carry out site inspections to ensure installations comply with drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with BS 7671, project specifications, and client requirements
  • Monitor quality of LV/MV power systems, containment, earthing, and life-safety systems
  • Witness and record testing, inspections, and commissioning activities
  • Manage snagging, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and close-out actions
  • Review red-line drawings and support as-built documentation
  • Liaise with construction, commissioning, and client teams on quality matters
  • Support final handover, O&M manuals, and quality records

Key Skills:

  • Electrical engineering background (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as an Electrical QA Engineer or QA/QC Engineer
  • Experience on data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or large commercial projects
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
  • Understanding of LV/MV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and earthing systems
  • Experience with inspection, testing, and commissioning procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation control
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
