Summary: The Electrical Project Manager will oversee electrical components of wastewater and clean water projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. This role involves leading the design, procurement, and installation of electrical systems while managing project timelines and budgets. The position requires strong leadership and project management skills to coordinate teams and resolve technical issues effectively. The opportunity includes the potential for a temporary to permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical engineering projects for wastewater and clean water treatment facilities.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, SCADA, instrumentation, and automation.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that all milestones are met.
- Supervise and coordinate electrical design teams, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the safe execution of electrical work.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage client relationships and provide regular project updates, addressing any concerns or challenges that arise.
- Resolve technical issues on-site, providing leadership and troubleshooting support to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Monitor project performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical project management, with a focus on wastewater or clean water infrastructure.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale electrical projects in the water sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control systems, SCADA, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Excellent project management skills with experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites as required.
