Summary: The Electrical Project Manager will oversee commercial electrical projects in Leeds and surrounding areas, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a results-driven individual with experience in managing electrical works across various commercial settings. The manager will lead projects from conception to completion while adhering to quality and compliance standards. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical projects from start to finish.
- Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets in line with client and company objectives.
- Ensure installations meet BS 7671 and relevant commercial building regulations.
- Manage and support site teams including engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure all works are executed according to health & safety and QA protocols.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve on-site challenges as they arise.
- Monitor project spend, track variations, and control resources effectively.
- Provide accurate cost reports and updates to senior leadership.
- Act as the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and third-party contractors.
- Communicate progress, risks, and updates professionally and clearly.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, standards, and internal procedures.
- Conduct quality audits, electrical testing, and commissioning.
- Lead on H&S requirements including RAMS and toolbox talks.
- Maintain clear project documentation: RFIs, progress reports, change orders, and handover packs.
- Present regular performance updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- BS 7671 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (including amendments)
- City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing
- City & Guilds 2396 – Electrical Design
- ECS Black Card (Current)
- PMP or similar project management certification (desirable)
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial electrical projects
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Sound technical understanding of commercial electrical systems
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Commercial awareness and risk mitigation
- High attention to detail with problem-solving ability
- Full UK driving licence
