Electrical Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical activities throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Review and challenge Stage 1 and Stage 2 electrical designs to ensure buildability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate electrical design development with consultants, designers, contractors and the wider project team.
  • Lead procurement strategy for major electrical equipment and packages.
  • Manage electrical package procurement and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Drive Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles to maximise off-site fabrication.
  • Identify project risks, technical issues and opportunities and develop practical solutions.
  • Support programme development, value engineering and technical decision-making.
  • Coordinate electrical interfaces with other project disciplines.
  • Ensure the electrical scope is fully coordinated and commercially viable ahead of construction.
  • Support the successful transition from pre-construction into construction.

Electrical Scope: Experience across major data centre electrical systems, including:

  • HV / LV distribution
  • Switchgear
  • UPS systems
  • Generators
  • Critical power systems
  • Electrical distribution
  • Electrical containment
  • BMS / EPMS interfaces

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong pre-construction experience.
  • Proven experience reviewing Stage 1 and Stage 2 design documentation.
  • Experience managing electrical procurement and major electrical packages.
  • Previous Data Centre, Mission Critical or similarly complex project experience highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators and critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of design development, buildability and project delivery.
  • DfMA / prefabrication experience advantageous.
  • Strong programme, commercial and technical awareness.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
