Summary: The Electrical Project Engineer role involves overseeing engineering and project management tasks on Upper Tier COMAH sites, focusing on low voltage and high voltage systems. The position requires collaboration with contractors to ensure project requirements are met while maintaining safety and compliance standards. The engineer will support the Terminal Program Delivery Manager in managing multiple projects, ensuring technical adequacy and effective risk management. Key responsibilities include reviewing contractor deliverables, defining customer requirements, and coordinating project scopes and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical adequacy of engineering and design consistent with economy and safety.
  • Review contractor deliverables and establish a good working relationship with contractors.
  • Define, understand, and deliver customer requirements.
  • Manage project risks effectively.
  • Audit contractor compliance with project requirements and implement remedial action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company, project standards, and local regulations.
  • Maintain effective interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate development of pre-contract scope, specifications, and programs.
  • Understand and communicate contractual requirements to the team.
  • Monitor suppliers’ compliance with purchase order conditions.
  • Manage work hour budgets and support subcontract plans.
  • Assist with project close-out activities.

Key Skills:

  • Experience on Upper Tier COMAH sites.
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage, 3.3, 6.6, and 11kV switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems.
  • Degree or HND qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong project management and engineering capabilities.
  • Ability to manage project risks and compliance audits.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in coordinating project scopes and specifications.
  • Ability to manage budgets and supplier compliance.
