The Role
You’ll be responsible for keeping the automated warehouse running safely and efficiently, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of automated material-handling equipment.
You will work as part of a small engineering team, with periods of working independently and taking ownership of breakdowns and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and automation faults across conveyors, automated pallet handling systems, cranes and high-bay storage equipment.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain maximum system uptime.
- Work independently and as part of a small engineering team within a high-volume automated warehouse
- Work safely at height when maintaining cranes, racking and associated equipment.
- Complete maintenance records and communicate ongoing issues effectively.
- Support the reliable operation of automated warehouse and material-handling systems.
About You: You should have:
- Electrical Engineering Qualification.
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance.
- Experience working with automated equipment, conveyors or material-handling systems.
- Experience within an automated warehouse, logistics, FMCG or manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Experience with cranes, ASRS or high-bay storage systems would be advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and breakdown response skills.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of maintenance issues.
- A good understanding of health & safety requirements.
Essential Additional Requirements
Due to the nature of the site, you must be comfortable working at height and have:
- Working at Height certification/experience.
