Summary: The Electrical Maintenance Engineer role in Sheffield involves maintaining and improving electrical systems in a medium to heavy engineering environment. The position requires hands-on experience with fault-finding and practical knowledge of PLC systems, particularly Siemens. The engineer will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and assist with installations and upgrades. Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across electrical systems and manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a safe and timely manner
  • Work on motors, drives, control panels, instrumentation and distribution systems
  • Support fault finding and modifications on Siemens PLC-controlled equipment
  • Assist with electrical installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects
  • Complete maintenance documentation and update CMMS records
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and electrical regulations

Key Skills:

  • Time-served electrician with Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent
  • Previous experience within a medium to heavy engineering or industrial environment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery, ideally Siemens PLCs
  • 18th Edition qualification preferred
  • 2391 inspection and testing qualification desirable
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and good communication skills
  • Ability to fit well within an established engineering team
  • Control panel building experience
  • Electrical installation work including tray and conduit
  • Pneumatics knowledge
  • HV installation experience

Salary (Rate): £30/hour

About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Sheffield. This role will focus on maintaining and improving electrical systems across a medium to heavy engineering environment would suit a hands-on maintenance electrician with strong fault-finding abilities and practical PLC experience.
