Summary: The Engineering Manager for Electrical & Control Systems will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver automation and control solutions for complex industrial projects. This role emphasizes technical excellence, innovation, and efficiency while managing the full lifecycle of engineering projects. The manager will also collaborate with various stakeholders and shape the strategic direction of the department. The position offers a temporary to permanent opportunity with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a geographically diverse team of engineers specializing in electrical systems and industrial software development.
- Manage full lifecycle of engineering projects, from planning to delivery, ensuring they meet client requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide hands-on technical oversight in areas such as PLC programming, control panel design, and electrical schematics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and client stakeholders to deliver integrated technical solutions.
- Review and optimize engineering documentation and system designs for consistency and compliance.
- Support business development and bid processes by contributing technical insight during project proposals.
- Monitor project performance and implement continuous improvements to workflows and team practices.
- Shape the long-term strategic direction of the department through process standardization, capability development, and innovation.
- Promote and enforce best practices in health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Skills:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a project-based environment.
- Deep understanding of industrial control systems, including PLC programming and electrical design.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and align engineering delivery with broader business goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage both internal teams and client relationships.
- Experience with global team collaboration is a strong advantage.
- Industry experience in sectors like energy, automation, or infrastructure is a plus.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in industrial automation or software-driven control systems.
