Summary: The role of Power & Electrical Engineer involves home-based work with travel throughout the North of England on a 5-month contract. The position requires carrying out electrical testing tasks, remedial actions, and minor installations at Telecommunications sites, while providing support to the Field Services engineering team. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out Electrical EICR and documentation from a planned schedule at Telecommunications sites.
- Perform reactive electrical maintenance and/or remedial maintenance as identified.
- Execute small electrical installations or upgrades as part of network improvements.
- Conduct operational and safety audits at designated sites.
- Manage access and on-site activities of specialist electrical contractors.
- Complete on-site records and documentation.
- Carry out PAT testing at designated locations and for field teams as required.
- Report monthly on electrical activities to the Governance Manager.
- Manage spending on company credit for maintenance consumables and report monthly.
- Self-manage and efficiently plan workloads.
- Travel anywhere within the UK as required by the business.
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
Key Skills:
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualified electrician.
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) test & inspection qualification.
- Driving licence.

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- IT literacy.
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) PAT testing qualification (desirable).
- IOSH (or similar) Health & Safety training/qualification (desirable).
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration (desirable).
- Knowledge of fire and intruder alarm systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of UPS systems, standby generators, and BMS systems (desirable).
- Experience in carrying out minor building fabric repairs (desirable).
- Experience supervising maintenance contractors (desirable).
- Experience working alone with minimum supervision (desirable).
