Electrical Engineer

Summary: The Electrical Engineer role involves maintaining the electrical infrastructure at a prestigious university in East-Central London. The successful candidate will ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with industry regulations through maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work. Key Responsibilities:

• Performing routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and electrical repairs across campus buildings
• Inspecting, testing, and maintaining electrical systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Carrying out installation and upgrade work on electrical components and systems
• Ensuring health and safety standards and regulations are strictly followed
• Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Collaborating with other maintenance and facilities teams to ensure smooth operations

Key Skills:

• Recognised electrical qualifications (such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2382, or equivalent)
• Proven experience in an electrical maintenance role, ideally within large commercial or educational facilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including distribution boards, wiring, and emergency lighting
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations, including BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
• Ability to diagnose and resolve faults independently and work efficiently within a team
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
