About the Role
Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for your next major contract opportunity? We are seeking a technical lead to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary engineering team delivering innovative design solutions across major UK infrastructure and industrial projects.
In this role, you will take a leading technical role across the full project lifecycle—from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support—while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with key clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead and coordinate electrical engineering design packages on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Team Management: Manage and support teams of Electrical and ICA Engineers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Design & Deliverables: Produce and review SLDs, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC Specifications, Control Philosophies, and Control Network Architectures.
- Quality & Compliance: Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and technical QA checks to ensure alignment with client specs and industry standards.
- Client Engagement: Liaise directly with stakeholders to translate project requirements into safe, sustainable engineering solutions.
- Bids & Growth: Assist with technical proposals, bids, and tender submissions.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills: Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline). Proven experience delivering electrical design within industrial or process engineering environments. Hands-on experience leading/coordinating electrical design teams and producing key design deliverables. Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., Trimble ProDesign , Amtech , or similar). Strong technical knowledge of: Motor Control Centres (MCCs) & Electrical Distribution Systems Cable Design, Earthing & Bonding, Lightning Protection & Lighting Design DSEAR and ATEX installation practices Control Systems & Network Architecture.
Desirable: Chartered Engineer ( CEng ) or Incorporated Engineer ( IEng ) status. Experience in the UK Water sector and knowledge of WIMES standards . Background supporting major UK infrastructure projects or prior consultancy experience.
