Summary: The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for bespoke automation and machinery projects. This role involves creating detailed electrical schematics and collaborating with various engineering disciplines to ensure system integration and compliance with safety standards. The engineer will also produce technical documentation and support build and commissioning teams. A strong background in electrical design for automation is essential, particularly in safety-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for bespoke automation and machinery projects
- Create detailed electrical schematics, cable schedules, and panel layouts using EPLAN P8
- Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and software engineers for system integration
- Ensure compliance with machinery safety standards and electrical regulations
- Produce technical documentation, BOMs, and support build/commissioning teams
- Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and design verification activities
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in electrical design for automation or special purpose machinery
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with EPLAN P8
- Proven background working on safety-critical projects in automotive, pharma, or food & beverage industries
- In-depth understanding of EN (phone number removed) and machinery safety regulations
- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation for manufacturing and commissioning
- Comfortable working both independently and within cross-functional teams
