Summary: The Electrical Design Engineer role is a 12-month contract based in Poole, focusing on Naval, Marine Aviation, and general Defence applications. The position requires undertaking concept and detailed design, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in product development. Candidates will provide guidance on electrical design and keep abreast of relevant technologies. The role is classified as outside IR35, requiring on-site presence three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertaking concept design and sufficient detail design of specific projects and product development
- Ensuring product design and development is met in terms of quality, programme and cost
- Provide guidance and support on Electrical/Electronic design, development, verification and manufacture to the relevant standards
- Keeping up to date with relevant technology, including commercial and rugged equipment
- Identifying, justifying and implementing process improvements
- Post design support and product documentation
Key Skills:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong understanding and experience within Electronics
- Electrical/Electronic CAD software, MRP systems and MS Office experience
- Engineering experience within the civil or military aviation industry would be desirable
- Understanding of heavily regulated product development
