Summary: Chroma Recruitment is seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a leading gas industry company, focusing on the design and implementation of advanced electrical control systems. This contract role emphasizes explosion protection, intrinsically safe circuits, and hazardous area design within critical national infrastructure projects. The position operates outside IR35, requiring a strong background in electrical and control systems engineering. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in EC&I engineering, particularly with ATEX equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead EC&I project design packages, ensuring high standards and compliance
- Deliver precise and efficient EC&I designs, including cable calculations, within budget and project timelines
- Develop risk assessments and method statements
- Produce and maintain FS/FAT documentation to support project delivery
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and CAD teams to ensure seamless design integration
- Prepare documentation for Formal Safety Assessments and O&M manuals
Key Skills:
- HND/Degree in Electrical, Controls Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in EC&I Engineering, including ATEX equipment and intrinsically safe circuits (IS loops)
- Strong electrical and control systems background with proven experience in a structured design environment
- CompEx EX12 certification
- Experience designing EC&I systems for hazardous areas
- Previous work within the Oil & Gas industry
- EPlan experience
