Summary: Harrow Council is looking for an experienced EHC Plan Writer to join their Special Educational Needs team on an initial 3-month contract. The role involves drafting and amending Education, Health and Care Plans to ensure compliance with current legislation. Key Responsibilities:
- Write clear, accurate, and legally compliant EHC Plans based on professional advice and reports.
- Amend EHC Plans following Annual Review reports and recommendations.
- Interpret a range of professional reports from educational, health, and care providers to inform plan content.
- Work within statutory timescales and ensure high standards of plan quality.
- Use databases such as CAPITA ONE or similar systems to manage case records.
- Store and retrieve documentation via SharePoint or similar platforms.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in writing and amending EHC Plans.
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex professional reports and translating them into well-structured EHC Plans.
- Familiarity with SEN casework processes, especially those related to Annual Reviews.
- Experience using CAPITA ONE or a comparable case management system.
- Competency in managing documentation using SharePoint or an equivalent platform.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
