Summary: The Egress Technician role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and system testing on Tornado aircraft egress systems. The technician is responsible for ensuring quality work, adhering to safety policies, and providing training as needed. The position may also require support to the RSAF outside of the shop environment. The role demands a high level of technical expertise and compliance with established quality systems and technical orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform major and minor egress repairs, modifications, and TCTOs on Tornado egress systems.
- Ensure quality and completeness of work on the egress system.
- Work within TSS Quality System and RSAF Technical Orders.
- Complete TSS forms and maintenance documentation.
- Safeguard programme timescales in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Provide on-the-job and theory training.
- Deputise for the supervisor when required.
- Ensure current authorisations for tasks and highlight training needs.
- Comply with TSS Quality System and RSAF publications.
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies as per TSS SHE Policy manual.
Key Skills:
- Completed a recognised Trade Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Completion of Tornado Egress Maintenance course.
- Minimum of 3 years in trade specialty on Tornado aircraft or 5 years on fast jet aircraft.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
- Current UK/Saudi Driving Licence.
- Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS, and M&CA processes (desirable).
- Experience of deep aircraft maintenance on Tornado (desirable).
- Familiarity with RSAF documentation and procedures (desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (desirable).
