Summary: The role of Educational Psychologist at Hampshire Council involves addressing a backlog project by providing psychological advice and support to children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological advice to SEN services and other officers for children and young people aged 0 – 25.
- Support communities, schools, parents, children, and young people with psychological advice.
- Contribute to multi-agency support for children and young people.
- Act as a consultant on psychological matters with parents, carers, and teachers.
- Collaborate with staff in the Education and Inclusion branch to enhance school effectiveness.
- Prepare and maintain written records.
- Provide statutory advice to local authorities in accordance with the SEN code of practice.
- Attend SEN and disability tribunals as required by the local authority.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Educational Psychologist.
- PHD/Doctorate or Masters in Educational Psychology or equivalent.
- Ability to provide anonymous reports for review.
- Strong communication and consultation skills.
- Knowledge of SEN code of practice.
- Experience in multi-agency collaboration.
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
