Educational Consultant

Earth Energy Education is looking for a self-employed, experienced school workshop leader to deliver workshops in schools and at solar and wind farms across the North of England.

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher or experienced educator seeking part-time consultancy work and must be willing and able to travel.

They will have a strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability and biodiversity with a good knowledge of the National Curriculum.

They will be able to lead inspiring and engaging sessions for a variety of ages, but primarily secondary school and +16 groups.

Required experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (minimum 1 year experience)

Essential criteria

  • A strong background in education
  • Demonstrable experience working with primary and secondary school students
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum
  • Ability to adapt educational workshops to all age groups
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the North of England
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid UK driving licence
  • Superb communication skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Competent IT skills with the ability to work online

Desirable (not essential)

  • An interest in current environmental ideas, renewable energy, and sustainability
  • Knowledge of and experience within the Higher Education sector
  • Understanding of the secondary school STEM and Geography curricula in England
  • Experience designing and presenting educational resources
  • Awareness of child protection, health and safety, and risk assessment procedures
  • Experience delivering online teaching or virtual workshops

Licence/Certifications

  • Driving licence
  • Qualified teacher status

Please note: this is a part-time consultancy contract with a maximum of 30 days contact time in school/on site within term times.

Planning and preparation time will be additional to this and will be paid.
