Summary: The EDU / E-Machine Test Automation Engineer role focuses on developing and supporting automation systems for powertrain testing facilities within the automotive sector. The position emphasizes collaboration with engineering teams to enhance testing efficiency and drive innovation in electrification and automation. Candidates will engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement of test bed automation systems. This role is based on-site in Whitley, Coventry, UK, and offers a chance to contribute significantly to the future of automotive engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support the operation of EDU and E-Machine test rig automation systems.
- Integrate various systems and hardware for testing programmes.
- Solve day-to-day automation system problems and provide robust solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet programme timing plans.
- Engage in the application/development of physical test automation systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test bed automation systems.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in physical test automation systems or programming/scripting in a controls-based environment.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as C# and Python.
- Familiarity with Morphee automation system or other test automation systems (e.g., PUMA, STARS, dSPACE).
- Knowledge of test facility instrumentation and automotive networks (CAN/EtherCAT).
- Degree in Engineering or a related field (Automotive, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering).
