EC&I Engineer - LV Distribution | 12 Month Contract

Birmingham (Remote working - 2 days per fortnight on site)

The chance to work on complex process plant projects

What will you be doing?

  • Producing and reviewing electrical design deliverables, including single line diagrams, cable schedules, load schedules and protection/discrimination studies for LV switchgear and distribution boards
  • Specifying and selecting LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs and distribution panels
  • Sizing cables and protective devices in line with BS 7671 and relevant industry standards
  • Carrying out or reviewing earthing and lightning protection design
  • Liaising with control systems engineers on the interface between LV power distribution and the instrumentation/control side
  • Supporting installation supervision, testing and commissioning of LV switchboards and distribution systems on site
  • Witnessing FAT/SAT and carrying out fault-finding as required
  • Ensuring compliance with client and statutory standards, including the IET Wiring Regulations

Where will you be doing it?

You'll be joining a well-established engineering business delivering process plant projects across sectors including water/wastewater, industrial process and energy.

Their teams work in highly regulated environments where safety and compliance are critical.

What you'll need?

  • Experience as an EC&I or Electrical Engineer with LV distribution experience
  • Strong working knowledge of BS 7671 and other relevant electrical standards
  • Experience producing electrical design deliverables such as SLDs, cable schedules and load schedules
  • Experience specifying LV switchgear, transformers, MCCs and distribution panels
  • Comfortable supporting site installation, testing and commissioning activities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with control systems engineers
