Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all health & safety matters on site.
- Manage, control, and co-ordinate all site operations for labour and sub-contractors.
- Conduct daily safe starts each morning before work commences.
- Prepare and communicate RAMS to all operatives in advance.
- Ensure permits are in place prior to commencing activities on site.
- Regularly monitor the workforce on site.
- Conduct daily plant checks and ensure PUWER and LOLER documentation is complete.
- Keep HAVS up to date and log any accidents, near misses, or service strikes.
- Deliver a quality product, on time, on budget, and safely.
- Implement the HCE quality management system.
- Maintain and update build records.
- Provide clear direction, support, and motivation to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with clients and project stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates and manage client expectations.
- Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to evaluate project performance.
Key Skills:
- At least 5 years in a similar role with a proven record of development.
- Degree qualified is preferable.
- Strong knowledge of contamination within land, soil, and water.
- Experience with contamination, earthworks, and remediation.
- Proven journey from an earthworks background.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and compliance to project programme.
- Awareness of hazardous materials such as Asbestos.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
- In date SMSTS Groundworker/plant operator background is desirable.
- Level 6 NVQ in Construction Senior Management or equivalent.
- First Aid certification.
