Summary: The Early Careers Administrator at Ofcom plays a vital role in supporting the Early Careers Team by managing recruitment, onboarding, and programme management for graduates, apprentices, interns, and work experience placements. This position is integral to building a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline while ensuring operational excellence within the People & Culture function. The role is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Manchester. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the Early Careers programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all requests for Work Experience, ensuring valuable placements for students.
  • Engage with colleagues interested in apprenticeships, providing guidance and liaising with providers.
  • Produce regular communications updates on programme activities and successes.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Early Careers team, including meeting arrangements and travel bookings.
  • Support programme activities to ensure a seamless experience across various stages of the Early Careers programmes.

The purpose and scope of the role

The Early Careers Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Early Careers Team in the delivery of our Early Careers programmes, including Graduates, Apprentices, Interns and Work Experience. Reporting to the Senior Talent Programmes Lead, and working closely with the Early Careers team and internal and external stakeholders, the Early Careers Administrator provides administrative support across the programmes. This includes the day-to-day operations of Early Careers recruitment, onboarding and programme management to ensure Ofcom is building a high performing, diverse and inclusive future talent pipeline. This is a 6-month fixed term contract.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all requests for Work Experience, supporting colleagues to follow our Work Experience process and ensure that students benefit from a valuable placement with Ofcom.
  • Engage with colleagues who are interested in enrolling onto an apprenticeship as part of upskilling in their role, providing them with information and guidance on appropriate apprenticeship standards and liaising with apprenticeship providers and our Learning & Development team as necessary, supported by the Senior Talent Programmes Lead
  • Work with the Early Careers and Communications teams to produce regular communications updates on the activities and successes of our programmes across internal and external audiences.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Early Careers team including arranging meetings, scheduling activities, room bookings and travel/accommodation bookings for Early Careers events.
  • Support the Early Careers team with programme activities to ensure a seamless experience across assessment centres, onboarding, rotations, performance, development, and retention.
