Summary: The role of the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer involves ensuring compliance of electrical and instrumentation systems with industry standards and safety regulations. The engineer will act as the owner's representative, overseeing contractor performance and quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and installations to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
- Support and coach contractors in troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Evaluate inspection reports and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve installation.
- Stay updated with industry developments, codes, and best practices (e.g. ATEX, EN, AREI).
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering with a focus on inspection.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation codes, standards, and regulations.
- Certification in electrical or instrumentation inspection (preferred but not mandatory).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
