Summary: The E&I Construction Package Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating all electrical and instrumentation construction activities within assigned project packages, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and budget constraints. This role requires extensive experience in engineering construction and involves collaboration with various teams to ensure timely execution of work scopes. The position is based in London after an initial 12 months on-site in North Wales, with a contract duration of 12 months, renewable for up to 3 years. The role is classified as PAYE and is inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and timely execution of construction work scopes in compliance with HSEQ standards.
- Develop E&I construction strategy and approve procedures.
- Provide input into project strategies, subcontractor scopes, and schedules.
- Coordinate interfaces with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
- Review AWP construction workpacks for constructability, safety, and resource requirements.
- Identify and escalate construction growth requirements.
- Act as liaison between construction, engineering, and subcontract departments.
- Attend project meetings and interface with client representatives.
- Support evaluation and selection of E&I subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation and CDM regulations.
Key Skills:
- Minimum HNC in Engineering or Trade Apprenticeship with technical qualification.
- 10+ years’ senior experience in engineering construction.
- Strong knowledge of project management systems and construction practices.
- Staff management experience and excellent communication skills.
- Experience in EPCM execution and AWP methodology.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
