Summary: The role of Network Automation Engineer involves extensive experience in network automation using tools such as Ansible, Python, and Powershell, with a focus on supporting complex campus and wide area networks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise Ansible, Python, Powershell & APIs for network automation.
  • Support complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Implement and manage networking protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE, IPSEC, VLANs & trunking, and Spanning Tree.
  • Work with Cisco and Juniper firewalls.
  • Utilise network logging and analysis tools (e.g., PRTG, Solar Winds, ELASTIC, Wireshark).

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in network automation.
  • CCNP Route and Switch full certification (CCNP Enterprise preferred).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco and Juniper firewalls.
  • Familiarity with network logging and analysis tools.
  • CCNP/CCNA Security and Juniper JNCIS/JNCIA certifications (desirable).
  • Experience with IP cryptography and Cisco CUCM.
  • Experience with Oracle ECB/SBC.

Essential

  • Demonstrable and extensive experience of network automation utilising Ansible, Python, Powershell & APIs.
  • Experience working with Catalyst Centre.
  • CCNP Route and Switch full certification. Also now known as CCNP Enterprise comprising 350-401 ENCOR and a concentration exam. Preferably 300-410 ENARSI.
  • Extensive experience supporting complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN). Extensive knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE, IPSEC, VLANs & trunking, Spanning Tree.
  • Cisco Firewall experience.
  • Juniper Firewall experience.
  • Experience with network logging and analysis tools (eg PRTG, Solar Winds, ELASTIC, Wireshark).

Desirable

  • CCNP/CCNA Security.
  • Juniper JNCIS/JNCIA certifications.
  • Experience working with IP cryptography.
  • Experience working with Cisco CUCM & associated Unified Communications technologies.
  • Experience working with Oracle ECB/SBC.
