Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join a prestigious defence organisation in London. This role involves leading and mentoring a junior Data Engineer while developing critical data pipelines and products. The position requires DV clearance and offers an opportunity to work with advanced data technologies such as Azure Data Factory and SQL Server. The successful candidate will play a key role in technical leadership and collaboration within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide the technical direction of data engineering projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and SQL Server.
• Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into a new platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and build data products that deliver actionable insights.
• Mentor and develop a junior Data Engineer, fostering their growth and skill development.
• Work closely with other developers and technical teams to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in data engineering roles, including data pipeline development and data integration.
• Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and SQL Server.
• Solid understanding of Python programming language.
• Experience working with diverse data sets and data sources.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Must already hold MOD DV clearance.
