Summary: The Durability & Robustness Lead Engineer role in Warwick focuses on defining and developing durability and robustness attributes across the Accessories portfolio. Key Responsibilities:

  • Define robust attribute targets through benchmarking, futuring activities, physical and virtual testing, measurement and visual assessment
  • Collaborate with engineering system owners to ensure effective cascade of targets and requirements in support of vehicle-level objectives (e.g., RMDV, Doors, TRM)
  • Plan and deliver vehicle and system-level Design Verification (DV), including CAE, RLD, rig and driven activities
  • Develop and maintain DVPs that maximise the use of best practice and cost-effective tools, including CAE
  • Report attribute status through robust documentation in support of programme gateways
  • Work cross-functionally to identify, progress and resolve technical issues
  • Communicate technical guidance and recommendations clearly to all levels of the business
  • Act as the Accessories Attributes representative within the vehicle D&R team
  • Support lessons learned and continuous improvement activities across programmes
  • Contribute to off-cycle capability development and study activities

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience within a vehicle engineering environment with strong understanding of Durability & Robustness engineering principles
  • Broad knowledge of whole vehicle engineering systems and technologies
  • Experience defining and delivering attribute targets using data-driven methodologies
  • Experience planning and executing vehicle testing and sign-off activities
  • Knowledge of D&R vehicle and system test methodologies (proving grounds, rig testing, road load data application)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including use of structured problem-solving tools
  • Awareness of FMEA and DoE principles
