Summary: Our client is seeking a Drainage Engineer with Highways Drainage experience for an initial 3-month contract in Cambridgeshire, with a hybrid working arrangement. The role involves managing flooding and drainage issues, analyzing data, and supporting winter maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.

Our client is currently looking to recruit a Drainage Engineer on an initial 3 month contract

Drainage Engineer – Highways (Contract) £250 per day Cambridgeshire - Hybrid

We are currently seeking a Drainage Engineer with Highways Drainage experience to join our team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage flooding and drainage issues on the highway network
  • Analyse data and produce clear, structured reports with actionable findings
  • Support winter maintenance activities on highways
  • Work collaboratively within a team to deliver projects effectively
  • Apply risk awareness in all aspects of project delivery

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in Highways Drainage / Flood Management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, “can-do” team player

Desirable:

  • Experience with GIS systems
  • CSCS card
  • Background in winter maintenance operations
