Summary: The role of Gate & Barrier/Auto Door Service Engineer involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing gate/barrier and auto door systems across various sites in Greater Manchester. This position is offered on a long-term sub-contract basis with flexible working arrangements and the potential for permanent placement. The engineer will work with government and blue-chip clients, ensuring high contract stability. The role requires proven experience and relevant certifications in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service, maintenance, and repair of gate/barrier systems and auto door systems (FAAC, CAME, BFT, etc.)
- Field-based role, travelling from site to site (housing associations & commercial premises)
- Working with a mix of government and blue-chip client contracts
- High volume of ongoing work with strong contract stability
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining gate/barrier systems
- Familiar with FAAC, CAME, BFT or similar systems
- Experience working across commercial and housing sites
- DHF and/or ADSA certification preferred
- Gate Safe certification desirable
- Valid DBS and driving licence essential
- INDFS clearance or willingness to obtain it

We’re looking for skilled GateBarrier and auto doors to Engineers to join on a long-term sub-contract basis, with the opportunity to self-manage your workload and operate across multiple sites in Greater Manchester.
The Role
- Service, maintenance, and repair of gate/barrier systems and auto door systems (FAAC, CAME, BFT, etc.)
- Field-based role, travelling from site to site (housing associations & commercial premises)
- Working with a mix of government and blue-chip client contracts
- High volume of ongoing work with strong contract stability
What’s on Offer?
- £37+ per hour, paid weekly (Fridays)
- Outside IR35
- 6-month rolling contract with extensions likely — some engineers already into year 2+
- Flexible working – self-managed schedule
