Document Controller - Creative Design & Production
I'm working with an established creative design and production business looking for a Document Controller to join its Birmingham team.
They deliver complex, large-scale physical projects, bringing together creative, design, technical and production teams - so this role sits right at the centre of keeping project information accurate, organised and in the right hands at the right time.

The Role
You'll take ownership of document control across multiple projects, working closely with Project Management, Design, Production and Procurement teams.
This is an immediate start freelance role, for 3-4 weeks.
You'll be responsible for:
Managing project documentation from receipt through to approval, revision and issue
Maintaining document registers, trackers and revision histories
Making sure drawings and documents are correctly named, numbered and version-controlled
Coordinating document submissions, approvals and revisions
Distributing the right information to internal teams, clients, consultants and suppliers
Managing electronic filing and project archives
Controlling superseded information and ensuring teams are working from current documents
Supporting project teams with information management and reporting
Maintaining confidentiality across sensitive project and commercial information
About You
You'll ideally already be working as a Document Controller, Information Controller, Project Administrator or Document Coordinator within a project-led environment.
We're looking for:
Strong document control and version-management experience
Exceptional organisation and attention to detail
Experience working with drawings, revisions and technical/project documentation
Confidence dealing with multiple teams and stakeholders
A methodical, proactive approach to spotting missing or incorrect information
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
Experience with SharePoint or similar document management systems
The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Experience within construction, design & build, engineering or another environment involving complex physical project delivery would translate particularly well.
