The Role
You will have overall responsibility for the performance of the distribution centre, including:
Leading, developing and motivating a large operational team.
Managing day-to-day warehouse, fulfilment and reverse logistics operations.
Driving KPIs, productivity, service levels and continuous improvement.
Ensuring high standards of health & safety, compliance and operational control.
Managing warehouse budgets and delivering cost-saving initiatives.
Planning resources and capacity around peak trading periods.
Optimising warehouse space, processes and systems to improve efficiency.
Working closely with commercial, finance, customer and operational teams.
Developing talent, succession plans and a strong performance culture.
Identifying and implementing Lean/Continuous Improvement opportunities.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced warehouse or distribution professional who can demonstrate:
Proven experience managing a large-scale warehouse/distribution operation.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience within retail, e-commerce, fulfilment or a similar fast-paced environment.
A strong understanding of operational planning, resource management and KPIs.
Experience managing budgets and delivering against financial targets.
A results-driven approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
IOSH qualification.
A recognised management qualification such as CMI or ILM would be advantageous.
