Key Responsibilities:
- Managing freehold disposals from inception to completion, including strategy, valuation advice and recommendations
- Producing disposal recommendation summaries and advising on the most appropriate disposal route
- Leading negotiations with purchasers, developers and agents to secure best consideration
- Ensuring compliance with statutory duties (including Section 123, Local Government Act 1972) and internal governance
- Maintaining audit-ready documentation including valuation evidence, marketing records and decision trails
- Working closely with legal teams and external solicitors to progress transactions and resolve title issues, covenants and easements
- Engaging with senior officers, elected members and internal services, including sensitive or contentious disposals
Key Skills:
- MRICS or FRICS (essential)
- Local Authority experience (essential)
- Strong background in disposals, valuation and estates management
- Confident negotiator with commercial awareness and an ability to operate in a public sector governance environment
- Able to interpret legal documents, title plans and planning policy
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to produce clear recommendations and maintain robust audit trails
