Summary: The Disaster Recovery Specialist role in London involves supporting the Senior Manager in designing and implementing a group-wide disaster recovery (DR) testing framework. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective DR tests and the development of business verification scripts. The specialist will also engage with third-party suppliers and maintain communication channels related to DR testing while ensuring compliance with policies and continuous improvement in processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and embedding of group-wide DR testing framework and strategies.
- Ensure appropriate escalations are undertaken in accordance with Bank policies.
- Identify and implement enhancements to the DR Testing policy and Framework.
- Regularly review, categorize, and monitor applications for DR testing.
- Lead and support stakeholders to ensure effective and timely DR tests.
- Develop business verification scripts to ensure successful DR tests.
- Maintain and update business communications channels linked to DR testing.
- Engage with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders to prioritize resources for DR testing.
- Produce or collate post-test reports and track actions to completion.
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant management reporting.
- Facilitate third-party DR assurance to meet testing policy requirements.
- Operationalize the DR testing Framework as part of projects and service introductions.

Typical Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Senior Manager with the design, development and embedding of group wide DR testing framework and strategies.
- They will ensure appropriate escalations are undertaken in accordance with Bank policies
- Support identify and implement enhancements to the DR Testing policy and Framework.
- Regular review, categorisation and monitoring of applications ensuring that all applications and scenarios that meet the criteria for DR testing are tested.
- Actively lead and support stakeholders to ensure effective and timely DR tests, working with technical and Business teams to produce and implement the necessary plans and playbooks ensuring we have the appropriate recovery capabilities to minimise customer and operational impact.
- Support the business in development of Business verification scripts to ensure DR tests are successful
- Maintain and update business communications channels linked to DR testing and output.
- Engaging with 3rd party suppliers and key internal stakeholders across the business, such as technology, business operations and Change management to ensure that there is appropriate priority and resource provided to deliver the DR testing schedule, identifying, and reporting any risks or tests out with the guidelines and managing any necessary actions to ensure they are delivered.
- Produce or collate post-test reports with result of the test and agreed actions and actively track these actions to completion
- Provide accurate timely and relevant management reporting.
- Oversight and facilitation of 3rd party DR assurance to ensure we meet the requirement of the DR testing policy.
- Ensuring that the DR testing Framework is considered and operationalized as part of projects and service introduction by providing SME support and oversight.
- Ensuring a continuous improvement mindset across the Controls COO team, identifying opportunities to enhance processes which could add value to the team, improve customer experience, efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
- May be required to work OOH to support DR testing.
- Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and developments to DR testing capabilities to ensure best practice is understood and implemented where appropriate across the Bank.
- Prioritising demands and deliver in a fast moving and challenging environment.
- Work closely with Business Continuity teams to ensure the processes and expectations are aligned and consistent, and where possible identify areas for collaboration and process improvements.
