Summary: The Technology Disaster Recovery Project Manager will oversee disaster recovery initiatives within the organization, focusing on developing and maintaining IT disaster recovery plans. This role requires strong project management skills to ensure compliance and successful testing of recovery strategies. The position is a 6-month contract with hybrid working arrangements, requiring travel to the Reading office 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and execute IT Disaster Recovery (DR) plans and projects.
  • Ensure all DR initiatives align with business continuity (BC) requirements and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to assess critical systems, recovery objectives, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain DR documentation, policies, and frameworks to ensure readiness.
  • Plan and coordinate regular DR testing exercises.
  • Identify gaps in recovery plans and work with teams to address deficiencies.
  • Ensure DR plans are regularly updated based on test results, business changes, or new technologies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and impact analysis to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment between DR and incident response strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DR-related activities across IT and business units.
  • Train and educate teams on DR policies, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Develop and deliver reports on DR readiness, risks, and improvements.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT disaster recovery, business continuity, or Infrastructure management and IT project management.
  • Strong knowledge of DR planning frameworks, IT infrastructure, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience managing disaster recovery projects within complex enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency with DR tools (e.g., backup & recovery solutions, ITSM tools).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards related to disaster recovery.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Hybrid or remote work flexibility.
