Summary: The Disaster Recovery Specialist role is a hands-on contract position focused on enhancing disaster recovery capabilities for a high-profile e-commerce business. The specialist will work with a diverse technology stack, including Azure and legacy .NET applications, to build and implement a robust disaster recovery framework. This position requires collaboration with software delivery teams to ensure alignment with ongoing development efforts. The role is hybrid and offers a competitive day rate outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work across a broad stack including Azure infrastructure, legacy .NET applications, and headless commerce platforms
- Liaise with software delivery teams to align DR planning with ongoing development and deployment
- Provide recommendations that balance resilience, cost, and complexity in a fast-paced environment
- Help uplift documentation and assurance across the estate
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Strong Azure knowledge, particularly around resilience and failover in cloud/hybrid environments
- Experience supporting software delivery or application development environments
- Exposure to legacy .NET platforms and complex infrastructure estates
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, large-scale organisations

This is a hands-on contract role focused on building, testing and embedding a robust disaster recovery framework across both cloud-native and legacy systems.
