Summary: The Portfolio Monitoring Specialist role at a leading private equity firm focuses on enhancing the portfolio monitoring framework for semi-liquid products within the Secondaries business. This Director-level position requires a Subject Matter Expert with extensive knowledge of eFront and private equity operations. The specialist will lead the design and implementation of monitoring processes while ensuring data accuracy and operational efficiency. The role is hybrid and involves collaboration across various teams to support a fast-growing private markets business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the firm's monitoring framework for Secondaries in eFront, ensuring it is fit for purpose for semi-liquid strategies
- Guide the roll-out of eFront as the chosen portfolio monitoring platform, ensuring it integrates effectively with existing systems and workflows
- Redesign processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and data quality
- Translate business needs into clear valuation, accounting, and reporting requirements
- Act as a bridge across Finance, Operations, Technology, and Investment teams, ensuring data accuracy and process consistency
- Establish governance models, policies, and controls to underpin sustainable monitoring practices
- Contribute to testing, validation, and readiness activities to ensure smooth implementation
- Share expertise with internal teams, providing coaching and support to strengthen overall monitoring capability
Key Skills:
- Deep technical expertise in portfolio monitoring and fund accounting across private markets
- Strong background in Secondaries and semi-liquid valuations
- Proven track record of setting up or leading portfolio monitoring functions
- Solid knowledge of fund operations, investor reporting, and performance measurement
- Hands-on implementation experience with eFront (or similar portfolio monitoring systems)
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders with credibility and influence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail
- Experience working in project environments and collaborating across multiple functions

To support this project, the firm is seeking a Portfolio Monitoring Subject Matter Expert who combines strong product knowledge with hands-on experience of eFront .
