Summary: The Director of Learning Science at Link3 Recruitment is responsible for leading and developing the Science department in a secondary school in Northampton. This role involves overseeing curriculum development, mentoring teachers, and ensuring high standards of education for students at KS3 and KS4 levels. The position is initially temporary but has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
• Develop and implement an engaging and challenging Science curriculum that meets national standards.
• Support and mentor Science teachers, providing guidance on best teaching practices and professional development.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress, using data-driven strategies to enhance student achievement.

Key Skills:

• At least 3-5 years of teaching experience in a secondary school with a strong background in Science education.
• A relevant degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Previous experience as a Head of Department, Subject Lead, or in another leadership role within a Science faculty.
• Experience in curriculum development, staff mentoring, and department management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven leadership and a track record of successfully leading and improving a Science department or team.
• Outstanding teaching practice with excellent student outcomes in Science at GCSE and A-Level.
