Summary: The role of Director - Crisis Management & Scenario Testing involves leading the global crisis management strategy and overseeing the scenario testing program for an insurance client on a 6-month contract. The position requires strong leadership in crisis response and operational resilience, with a focus on communication and training. The role is hybrid and based in London, requiring extensive experience in crisis management within a global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the global crisis management strategy, governance, escalation processes and response framework
- Design and deliver the global scenario testing programme (tabletops, drills, supplier exercises)
- Facilitate Real Time response to major disruption events, chairing crisis calls and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Oversee client and regulatory communications during incidents
- Maintain crisis playbooks, decision logs, and audit-ready documentation
- Partner with Technology, Risk, Operations and senior leaders to strengthen organisational readiness
- Deliver training, awareness and ongoing improvements to crisis response capability
- Produce executive-level reporting on crisis trends, lessons learned and remediation
Key Skills:
- 10+ years leading enterprise-wide crisis management in a global organisation
- Proven experience managing major incidents across multiple regions and time zones
- Strong understanding of operational resilience regulations (FCA, DORA, NIST, etc.)
- Experience designing and running crisis scenarios and testing programmes
- Excellent communication skills, able to brief executives, boards and regulators
- Financial services background required; insurance experience preferred
- Certifications such as CBCP, MBCI or DRI are an advantage
