Summary: The Freelance Digital Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end delivery of consumer-facing digital products, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams in a digital agency environment. This role requires strong leadership in Agile methodologies and effective client relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing web and mobile application projects, ensuring successful project delivery within scope and budget. The position is outside IR35 and based in the London Area, United Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of consumer-facing software products, working alongside a Programme Manager/Director.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) within our Scrum delivery squad.
- Establish and maintain project reporting, controls, and delivery tracking.
- Identify, escalate, and manage risks and issues.
- Act as the day-to-day primary contact for internal teams and program manager.
- Build and maintain productive relationships and support the squad through any delivery challenges.
- Own and manage project budgets, team allocation, and deliverables to ensure the engagement remains within agreed scope.
- Capture, refine, and document project requirements as needed.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering consumer-facing digital projects end-to-end, ideally in a digital agency setting.
- Strong background managing web and/or mobile application projects.
- Hands-on experience delivering in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies, API interactions, CMS workflows, and software development processes (no coding expected).
- Proficiency using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence (or similar).
- Experience tracking team velocity, forecasting delivery, and managing scope.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and improve ways of working to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and delivery focused.
- Strong problem-solver with a solutions-first mindset.
- Collaborative team player who integrates well into existing squads.

This role is ideal for a contractor who has previously worked in a digital agency environment delivering consumer-facing digital products such as websites and mobile applications. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across design and technology. We’re looking for someone who can quickly integrate into ongoing workstreams, provide delivery leadership, and help maintain strong client relationships.
