Summary: The Digital Product Owner role involves working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to manage the product backlog, engage stakeholders, and ensure alignment with business strategies. The position requires collaboration with various teams to translate requirements into actionable features and user stories. The role also includes decision-making responsibilities to enhance software solutions and drive continuous improvement. This is a hybrid position based in Northampton, with a contract lasting until the end of June 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil the role of the SAFe Product Owner within the development team.
  • Engage stakeholders to elicit, elaborate, and document requirements.
  • Translate requirements into Features and User Stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Own, maintain, refine, and prioritise the team backlog.
  • Review and accept completed work from the team on behalf of stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Solution Managers to align the backlog with business strategy.
  • Monitor solution performance and drive improvements.
  • Create or contribute to business process models and workflows.
  • Organise and support key SAFe and Product Management processes.
  • Provide direction and leadership to Scrum and delivery teams.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and collaborate with Product Managers on scope and priority.
  • Make decisions regarding software operation in consultation with technical teams.
  • Control and manage solution scope and coordinate delivery dependencies.
  • Contribute feedback for continuous improvement.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Owner, Software Analyst, or similar roles.
  • Expert understanding of eliciting and elaborating requirements into Features and User Stories.
  • Strong technical background and business analysis skills.
  • Experience in designing, building, and delivering software as a service.
  • Experience working within a development team on a daily basis.
  • IT related degree or equivalent work experience (desirable).
  • Experience in an agile environment (desirable).
  • Payments industry experience (desirable).
  • Experience in delivering highly available services (desirable).
